Thiago Silva's move from Chelsea to Fluminense has at last been officially announced by both clubs. The veteran defender's contract with the Blues was set to expire at the end of the season with a return to former club Fluminense rumoured for some time. Now that move is official with Silva being allowed to train with Fluminense before his move is made official on July 1st. Silva joined Chelsea in 2020 where he went on to make over 150 appearances for the Blues during which he won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup as well as being named the club's Player of the Season and Players' Player of the Season for the 2022/23 campaign. The 39-year-old could potentially make three more appearances for Chelsea where he will be to say his goodbye to fans at Stamford Bridge as Mauricio Pochettino's side host Bournemouth on the final day of the season.
