Manchester City lead a number of elite European clubs interested in signing Bayern Munich's Jamal Musiala this summer, according to reports.
An article by the Independent states that the current Premier League champions are at a 'more advanced' stage in their pursuit of the 21-year-old Germany international, who is understood to have concerns about Bayern's ability to compete with Europe's best teams after a sobering season in the Bundesliga.
Although Musiala's contract runs until 2026, he has not sought to extend or improve his current deal and the likes of City believe he could be tempted away from the Allianz Arena.
City are also believed to retain an interest in West Ham United's Lucas Paqueta and Crystal Palace's Michael Olise, but the potential signing of Musiala would no doubt be more of a coup - the former Chelsea academy player currently regarded as one of the best players in the world.
Liverpool, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly also monitoring Musiala's situation.
