Alexander Isak, Jamaal Lascelles, Joelinton, and Anthony Gordon all found the net as Chelsea suffered a humbling 4-1 defeat at the hands of Newcastle United at St. James' Park on Saturday.
Newcastle broke the deadlock with 13 minutes into the game, after Isak, left unmarked in the box, was perfectly set up by the youngster Lewis Miley, and the Swede made no mistake from ten yards.
However, Chelsea managed to level the score with a splendid free-kick from Raheem Sterling just 10 minutes later.
The hosts had another chance to take the lead again when Joelinton missed a golden opportunity soon after.
Enzo Fernandez threatened next, requiring a strong save from Nick Pope. Shortly after, the Newcastle goalkeeper survived a scare as his poor clearance could have been punished by Gallagher.
As the first half concluded, Kieran Trippier's free-kick hit the bar and sailed over Robert Sanchez's goal, ending an entertaining and evenly contested first half.
The second half started at a slower pace, but in the 60th minute, Eddie Howe's men took the lead again when Lascelles rose highest to score from Gordon's cross, making it 2-1.
Almost immediately, Joelinton capitalised on a mistake by Thiago Silva, went one-on-one with Sanchez and doubled Newcastle's lead after finding the bottom corner.
Chelsea's situation worsened as captain James received a second yellow card with 20 minutes remaining, killing any hopes of a comeback.
Gordon added a fourth goal seven minutes from time, reflecting Newcastle's dominance in the second half and witnessing Chelsea's unraveling.
This victory propels Newcastle to 6th in the table, just three points off the top four, with a crucial Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain on the horizon.
Chelsea, on the other hand, remains in 10th place after the defeat and will aim to bounce back against Brighton in the upcoming weekend.
