Real Madrid confirmed their spot in the Champions League quarter-finals after a hard-fought 1-1 draw against RB Leipzig in the second leg of their last-16 tie at the Bernabeu.
Holding a 1-0 lead from the first leg, the Spanish side faced a more aggressive Leipzig in the return match.
Despite several warning signs in a relatively uneventful first half, Xavi Simons came closest to opening the scoring for Leipzig with a curled effort, saved by Andriy Lunin.
Leipzig continued to press after the restart, with Lois Openda rounding Lunin but missing a chance to shoot as the Ukrainian goalkeeper regained possession.
Los Blancos struggled to create chances until the 65th minute when Vinicius Jr capitalised on a brilliant run and pass from Jude Bellingham to put the hosts ahead.
Despite Real's lead, the visitors showed resilience and equalised just four minutes later. Willi Orban headed a cross from David Raum into the net, making it 2-1 on aggregate.
The German side pressed hard in the late stages but couldn't find the crucial goal to force extra time, allowing Real Madrid to secure their place in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals for the 20th time.
