Arsenal returned to winning ways with a routine 2-0 win over Luton Town at the Emirates Stadium and will spend the night at the top of the Premier League.
It was an impressive first half from the Gunners, dominating the game with complete control, patience, and denying any opportunity for the Hatters to regain momentum.
The hosts took the lead in the 24th minute following a well-executed press by Emile Smith Rowe, leading to the Gunners winning possession high up the field.
Martin Odegaard then received the ball, initiated a slick one-two with Havertz, and confidently slotted it into the bottom corner of the net.
Just before half-time, Arsenal doubled their lead after Smith Rowe delivered a powerful ball across the face of the goal, causing Luton defender Daiki Hashioka to inadvertently redirect the ball into his own net.
In the second half, Mikel Arteta's side reduced the pace of the game, resulting in few opportunities for either side.
It was a good evening for Arteta - three points, solid performance, squad rotation and no injuries.
With this win, the Gunners will move back to the top of the Premier League, one point clear of Liverpool, who play bottom-placed Sheffield United at Anfield on Thursday. Luton stay in relegation zone, three points from safety.
Both sides will now play on Saturday, with Arsenal travelling to Brighton, while Luton will host Bournemouth.
