The quarter-final and semi-final draw for all three UEFA competitions has taken place today with the first of which being the UEFA Champions League, following the conclusion of the Round of 16 this week.
There were two penalty shootout victories in the competition this week with Arsenal and Atletico Madrid defeating Porto and Internazionale respectively.
Last season’s defending champions Manchester City remain in the competition alongside 14-time winners Real Madrid as well as German champions Bayern Munich and French champions Paris Saint-Germain. Borussia Dortmund and Spanish champions Barcelona also progressed into the Round of 16 each for the first time since 2021.

Semi-finals:

ARSENAL / BAYERN MUNICH vs REAL MADRID / MANCHESTER CITY
For the first time since 2010, Arsenal are in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League and they are taking on Bayern Munich, spear-headed by their old north London nemesis, Harry Kane. The winner of that tie will take on the winners of arguably the two favourites for the competition in the semi-finals as Real Madrid face Manchester City in the last eight after City won the tie between the two in the final four last season.
The other side of the draw is perhaps a lot wider and fairly viewed as the ‘weaker’ side with Atletico Madrid, enduring a fairly difficult 2024, taking on a Borussia Dortmund side that are also underwhelming domestically. The winner of that quarter-final will face either Luis Enrique’s improving Paris Saint-Germain in Kylian Mbappe’s final season in Paris or Luis Enrique’s former club, Barcelona, in what is Xavi’s final season in charge of the Blaugrana.
The ties will be played in successive weeks with the first-legs to be played over the ninth and tenth of April.
