For the first time since 2010, Arsenal are in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League and they are taking on Bayern Munich, spear-headed by their old north London nemesis, Harry Kane. The winner of that tie will take on the winners of arguably the two favourites for the competition in the semi-finals as Real Madrid face Manchester City in the last eight after City won the tie between the two in the final four last season.

The other side of the draw is perhaps a lot wider and fairly viewed as the ‘weaker’ side with Atletico Madrid, enduring a fairly difficult 2024, taking on a Borussia Dortmund side that are also underwhelming domestically. The winner of that quarter-final will face either Luis Enrique’s improving Paris Saint-Germain in Kylian Mbappe’s final season in Paris or Luis Enrique’s former club, Barcelona, in what is Xavi’s final season in charge of the Blaugrana.

The ties will be played in successive weeks with the first-legs to be played over the ninth and tenth of April.

As a football fan, I am ecstatic about the quarter-final and semi-final draw for the UEFA Champions League! It's exciting to see last season's champions Manchester City still in the competition alongside other powerhouse teams like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain. And I can't forget about the underdogs Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona making it to the Round of 16. Can't wait to see who comes out on top!
