Porto boss Sergio Conceiçao has claimed that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta insulted his family following the Gunners' last-16 Champions League victory at the Emirates last night.
The Gunners progressed to the last eight after a 4-2 penalty-shootout win, goalkeeper David Raya saving spot-kicks from Wendell and Galeno in a dramatic finale.
Afterwards, Conceiçao said.
"What Arteta said, towards the bench in Spanish, he insulted my family,"
According to the BBC, club sources at Arsenal have stated that Arteta denies the accusations.
The rival managers had a heated confrontation at the final whistle before being separated.
"He should focus on training his team," said Conceiçao afterwards. "The result was injust. The team deserved to go through."
Before Conceiçao's comments, Arteta was asked about the flashpoint and said: "No comment. Thank you very much."
