England put in a fine performance to put four goals past the Korea Republic in the Arnold Clark Cup.
It did take a little for the Lionesses to get going in Milton Keynes but they eventually took the lead from the penalty spot just before half-time. Lauren James, in an eye-catching performance, won the penalty which was dispatched by Georgia Stanway past Kim Jung-mi.
England doubled their lead soon after the break with a little bit of good fortune. A defence mistake at the back for Korea led to Chloe Kelly picking up the ball and firing into goal via a deflection.
The contest was over in the 50th minute when a low ball from the left by Alex Greenwood was finished off at the near post by Alessia Russo.
Laura Coombs enjoyed a nice moment in the 66th minute when Sarina Wiegman brought the Manchester City player on for her first England appearance in eight years.
James got a much-deserved goal to finish off the scoring to make it 4-0 to England in the 78th minute.
That result puts England at the top of the standings after the first round of the Arnold Clark Cup with Belgium enjoying a 2-1 victory over Italy in the early kick-off.
The next round of games kicks off on Sunday with England facing Italy and Belgium taking on the Korea Republic.
