Mats Hummels' header booked Borussia Dortmund's place in the Champions League final after a 2-0 aggregate win over Paris Saint-Germain.
After losing 1-0 in Germany in the first leg, PSG came into this game after having enjoyed a weekend off while Borussia Dortmund filled their boots with a 5-1 win over Augsburg in the Bundesliga.
The home side started off brightly but found the Dortmund defence difficult to deconstruct. In fact, the best chance of the first half came from a lightning-fast counterattack when Karim Adeyemi was played through but his effort was straight at Gig Donnarumma.
The Parisians did manage to make more inroads in the second half with Warren Zaïre-Emery having a close-range effort bounce back off the post.
From that point on, Dortmund knew all they had to do was stifle PSG's attacks and that was exactly what they did with Hummels and Nico Schlotterbeck putting in superb shifts in defence.
The woodwork played a big part again too. Nuno Mendes had a drive bounce back off the post in the 61st.
Gonçalo Ramos was guilty of missing chances for his side while at the other end, Hummels did have the ball in the net for a second time from another Dortmund corner but the centre-back was well offside.
As time ticked on it became apparent this was not going to be PSG's night.
Kylian Mbappé was always the bright spark whenever he was able to get clear of his defenders. In what will be his final Champions League match for the club, the forward saw one of his own efforts bounce off the bar late on after Gregor Kobel got a hand to it.
Vitinha was the next player to fire an effort at the bar with his fierce effort once again testing the woodwork's durability.
Time eventually ran out for Luis Enrique's side with Borussia Dortmund booking their place in the Champions League final against either Bayern Munich or Real Madrid.
