After Sunday's Super Lig match, chaos erupted as Trabzonspor supporters stormed into the pitch and attacked Fenerbahçe players following their 3-2 victory at Papara Park.
Former Manchester United star Fred netted twice in the first half, both set up by Dusan Tadic. The hosts managed to equalise in the second half, but a late goal from Michy Batshuayi sealed the win for the visitors.
Following the final whistle, Fenerbahçe players celebrated in the centre of the pitch, but tensions escalated due to the troubled history between the two clubs. Trabzonspor fans attempted to attack the visiting players, prompting them to defend themselves.
On Monday, Turkey's Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 12 fans had been arrested in connection to the incident.
In the Super Lig table, Fenerbahçe currently sit in the second position, trailing leaders Galatasaray by two points and holding a comfortable 30-point lead over third-placed Trabzonspor.
