U18 Premier League: Middlesbrough humbled on home turf by Sunderland

Sunderland overcame Middlesbrough in a win on Saturday, 0x2, on to matchday 19 of the U18 Premier League. Coming into the contest, Lee Cattermole's team came from a defeat, and Alex Ackerley's team came from two wins.

In a very unlucky moment, Alfie Myers-Smith scored an own-goal with 18 minutes on the clock.

Will Dowling netted the last goal after 69 minutes from the penalty spot. In the 83rd minute, Yacou Traore saw a red card after receiving his second yellow in the final minutes of the game, Trey Ogunsugi missed the spot-kick.

After the result Sunderland are 2nd in the table, with 32 points, while Middlesbrough sit 10th place, with 16 points. In relation to forthcoming league matches, Alex Ackerley's team will host Wolverhampton, whilst Lee Cattermole's team will play away against Everton.
