Foxes miss chance to return to the top...

Mehmeti strikes to stun Leicester City

Anis Mehmeti scored the only goal of the game as Bristol City defeated Leicester City at Aston Gate.

Enzo Maresca will be stunned his side didn't get anything from this game especially considering some of the huge chances they failed to take.

Surprisingly, Jamie Vardy was the biggest culprit of all missing two golden opportunities in the second half.

The first chance came five minutes into the second half when Vardy and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall linked up for a lovely one-two that cut through the Robins' defence.

All that was left was for Vardy, unmarked in the penalty box, to apply the finishing touch but goalkeeper Max O'Leary got down low to stop the shot.

O'Leary was needed to deny Vardy once again from an even bigger chance in the 62nd minute.

This one came from a sloppy mistake at the back when Zak Vyner gave the ball to Vardy near the penalty spot but again the striker couldn't convert with O'Leary palming his effort away.

It came down to Anis Mehmeti to show Leicester how to finish. The Albanian international Mark Sykes' pass on the edge of the area, took a touch to set himself, and then fired a powerful effort into the corner that left Mads Hermansen with no chance.

That win was Bristol City's first in 12 years of the Foxes and sees them move up into 12th in the Championship ahead of this afternoon's games.

Indeed, it's worrying times for Leicester who have won just one of their last six league games – losing four of them.

Disappointing result for Leicester City. We had plenty of chances to score but just couldn't find the back of the net. Mehmeti's goal was the only difference in the end. Need to be more clinical in front of goal.

As a Bristol City fan, I am over the moon with this victory! Mehmeti's goal was a thing of beauty and it's always satisfying to beat a top Premier League team like Leicester. I have to admit, though, I was a bit nervous when Vardy had those chances. But thank goodness for O'Leary's amazing saves!

As a fan of Bristol City, I am ecstatic about this victory over Leicester City! Anis Mehmeti's goal was the icing on the cake, but it's the missed chances by Jamie Vardy that really sealed the deal for us. Big shoutout to goalkeeper Max O'Leary for his brilliant saves.
